12 minutes LHR T4
12 minutes from the ramp outside T4, passing the ticket desk to pick up the paper ticket, through Fast Track, and onto the 747. Push after door shut. Close, but well done, but before 9-11 enhancements. Oh, and that was an airmiles ticket with no taxes etc....
Of course, in the old days (that only Spottie and WHBM would remember) we used to be able to walk up to the aircraft and just get on it and then purchase the ticket on-board. Trident One and Threes on the Shuttle, with the odd Concorde appearance. Mach 0.88 cruise, 24 minutes airborne LHR to MAN etc.
It used to be so much easier....
