NZ scenery and attractions are far more than just the fiords. NZ landscape is incredibly varied for such a small country - most landscapes other than true desert are found here.

I've been to some fiords in both Norway and NZ. Both very nice. I expect the NZ ones to be less inhabited in general, and other than Milford Sound less visited also. The NZ fiords are all within a national park.
