Howdy,
During my extended vacation,

I have had the opportunity to watch one of my favorite movies,
The Shining, several times. I freakin' love this movie, and it continues to be one of the coolest, scariest horror movies of all time, IMHO. ^
There is a scene in there that I have a question about, though. Towards the end, when Scatman Crothers (who plays Dick Halloran, the head cook) sees premonitions of what is happening at the hotel and decides to fly back to Denver, he flies from MIA to DEN on a CO DC-10. Since I have a slight idea of the scope of operations of the former CO hub at Stapelton Airport, but I cannot find a comprehensive thread explaining in detail their ops, I was wondering if someone could tell me just how big this operation really was? Did CO have frequent widebody service to MIA (and other warm-weather destinations)? How about other Int'l operations? Did UA have their hib there at the same time? Finally, why exactly did CO pull out from DEN, and did CO lose a lot fo Western US destinations as a result?
