Je suis d'accord pour le "cafe creme" in a restaurant or in a bar. I think "cafe creme" is a very typical Parisian expression. At home, people say "cafe au lait".
Maybe this is due to the fact that, before, they used to have real cream in the coffee, instead of milk. But I am not sure, this is only my interpretation!
