but really, not to bash the TSA, but there are items that would be safe to carry in an airplane but you dont want people to have access to. if they had baggage in the sterile area, they might as well not bother differentiating with what you can take onboard and what you have to check.
the solution is oh so simple. just station a couple people at the baggage exits to match the tags.
