It's a hole. I loath flying through LHR (a bit unfortunate as I do so weekly), but especially on BA. While the crappiness of BAA affects all airlines, there are BA specific elements - the impossibly dreadful baggage handling - that make it especially painful. It hasn't go to the point of me moving away from BA as there are compensating benefits elsewhere (the bed, better schedules and frequency that VS, cheap ex EU tickets) but it is very close.

Having connected through LHR twice in the last year I can't see why anyone would voluntarily do so, especially when comparing it to a proper airport like HKG.

And those seeing T5 as the cure-all should remember that a third of all flights will be coached for at least 18 months as the second satellite isn't ready until 2009 at the earliest.
