I usually fly AC (as I'm from YYZ) but starting may I'm be working as an intern at SFO, so for my next trip, I decided to take UA! I have some general questions:
1) for Online Check-in, for a connecting flight, which 'leg' of your trip defines the 24 hour? Is it the last leg?

2) I bought a S class (Special) fare, YYZ-SFO-PEK-SFO-YVR, when I called UA, I was told this fare is not upgradeable. Will I be offered the money upgrade when I check-in? any method to higher the chance of being upgrade?

3) UA888/889 what kind of food do they have? Do they have instant noodles (like CX) which can be ordered whenver you want in Y?

and any comments would be helpful.
