My girlfriend has been stuck in Montreal since thursday due to weather... So far we've tried three flights which have all been cancelled last minute.... She now is confirmed on a flight out sunday... My question is this, her YUL->US flights always are Air Canada codeshares. As a result, Air Canada has said it is not their responsibility to help her out. I've been using the 1k line to rebook her and we have not had her stand-bying for any random flights so she doesn't get stranded.

The one consideration we were thinking about was having her stand-by for a flight to Vancouver (so I can drive and pick her up).. However, apparently the way they explained it, if she manages to get on the flight and it is canceled, she will have lost her original confirmation and will have to search for a flight all over again....

Pretty much, I'm all out of ideas of how to get her out of YUL and home (SEA)..... Any comments, opinions, heck sarcastic random jabs would be appreciated...
