Booking QF2404 as BNE-BLT and then booking BLT-BNE as the combination of QF2404 BLT-EMD and QF2409 EMD-BNE.
Now its the same flight number and aircraft that operates QF2404 as BNE-BLT-EMD. But he is hoping to book it as BNE-BLT and then BLT-BNE (via EMD) and earn 3 x 10 Status Credits.
Yes that one and few others. Except the others I hope will earn 2 x 10 SCs and 1 x 15 SCs for the same price. If worse comes to worse then it will be 2 x 15 SCs which is still just as good.
According to the published rules of the QF FF program (as posted by serfty on the same discussion on AFF), even if its on one ticket, the member is only entitiled to the through flight BNE-EMD and EMD-BNE points and status credits.
However, it is quite possible that the programming logic behind the QF FF system will actually credit it as BNE-BLT, BLT-EMD and EMD-BNE.
I know what the rules say but hard to determine how it will be interpreted. It may also depend on when the flights are credited to the QFF account. In theory there will be 2 seperate boarding passes, which in itself does not guarantee that SC will post that way, so may end up getting all the SCs.
I have seen your posted example of QF10 which gives me some encouragement.
So if I am lucky it could be 35 SCs @ $5.48/SC or the worst case scenario 30 SCs @ $6.40/SC. Both perfectly acceptable as a status run in Australia.
By my calculations I will be 30 SCs short of Platinum so here is a perfect opportunity to wrap up Platinum and visit some outback QLD mining towns.
