I have not had much trouble getting SkySaver rewards when I wanted them. I even got two Skysaver B/E to Europe less than 4 months in advance. Some things I would like to see changed:

1) Let us book rewards on SkyTeam partners online. I don't see what the downside of this is. At least let us book NW and CO if nothing else.

2) Differentiate GM and PM in terms of mileage earned. Give PM 150% (or at least 125%)

3) I would like to see something done regarding revenue...I realize that most people would be upset by a complete change to this type of system but I think the current system misalligns incentives. Case in point, I recently purchased a paid F class ticket that was just short of being a transcon. The price was less than several Y class flights I have flown recently on ASA and Comair to cities that were within 500 miles of ATL. I am not complaining about the prices (you should charge what the market will pay, and I choose to pay), but there should be some acknowledgement of the fact that people in some cases pay almost $2 per actual mile flown on some flights.

4) I do like the idea of opening up SkySaver on empty flights. Maybe an add on to the new search functionality would be the ability to specify dates and then search for SkySaver from a starting city to "anywhere" on the dates requested. You might have to narrow the "anywhere" field to regions so that the list of matching city pairs with skysavers wouldn't be too long and cumbersome but it would help people use miles for a weekend away or some other unplanned trip when they aren't going to just purchase a ticket if they don't get a FF seat.

5) I also like the idea of a staggered opening of reward seat availability where PM get first shot furthest out, then GM, then FO. I would go a step further and not let people who haven't flown Delta on a paid ticket in 12 months (i.e. AMEX card holders) book SkySaver until 100 days out. That way an AMEX card holder who doesn't give any business to Delta doesn't take a seat from a PM/GM/FO at 330 days out. (I would be curious to know what % of Skymiles members have over 25,000 miles but no flight activity in the last year.)

6) A couple of other thoughts...I really appreciate Continental's expedited baggage handling for elites, why can't Delta emulate this? I also like the no middle seat guarantee, why not hold a few non-middle seats until the day of departure for people who buy walk up fares?

7) I would like it if I could combine my wife's FF miles into my account, (some hotels allow you to do this with their points.)

8) I would also like it if I could roll miles into Membership Rewards instead of only the other way around. (I would want this to use for non-travel rewards, not as a mechanism to launder FF miles)
