Question What prevents PK e-certs from being used?

I have go to PHL/NYC in April for a few weeks (9th-29th). I'm flying from EDI. So I pop over to nwa.com, go into the "more search options," plug in my PK075 (good until the end of October), EDI-EWR, and it says it can't find anything. EDI-LGA, same deal. The catch-all EDI-NYC, same deal. EDI-PHL, same deal.

Without limiting it to the PK075 search, it finds plenty of inventory to everywhere, but at non-discounted prices, with a little note at the top that "some of the fares below may not match your requested promotional offer. This may be due to a lower fare in the marketplace or the seats for the certificate fare may not be available. (Message 172)"

If I limit it to the PK075 search, but search by schedule, it finds plenty of things, including the flights I want, but selecting flights get me "We're sorry, but we were unable to price your selected itinerary with this E-Cert offer. Please check the terms and conditions of your E-Cert offer or try selecting different flights."

I tried specifying higher fare classes, even going so far as to ask for only B or higher, but it still came up with nothing.

I have to make the same trip in late June (23/30) so I tried those dates, and got the same lack of anything / Message 172 stuff.

Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? Are there so many E-Certs out there, or are the flights so full five and a half weeks out that there's simply no availability? Is something broken?
