You don't say how you would get CDG-> RDU, not that it matters. I would definitely transit LHR over CDG. You'll be flying in to T1 (BA Metal from BCN) or T2 (IB metal from BCN). In spite of the horror stories here about LHR, two hours is plenty to transit through FCC and into T3 for your AA flight across the pond. Hey, you might even get a few minutes in the CX lounge.

In the very best of circumstances (AF to AF) transiting CDG can be a nightmare (remote stands, long lines, out and back in....) throw in a change of airlines or (mon dieu!) a change from T2 to T1 and it can be one of your worst travel experiences ever.
