A330 video system: nose gear / belly camera views?
About two years ago I had a misconnect at Tokyo Narita on my way to Bangkok. I overnighted in Tokyo and was booked on ANA for the next day. The ANA flight was on a 777-200, and the seat-back video system in coach had a neat feaure. As we taxied, there was a channel that showed a view ahead of us. (I believe the camera was mounted on the nose gear).
Shortly after becoming airborne (at the time of gear retraction) this view disappeared to be replaced by a view straight down from the belly. As we approached BKK and the gear was extended, the view from straight ahead resumed.
This was a neat addition to the video content, along with the typical flight tracking map and the various movies.
Does anyone know if the Airbus 330s Northwest purchased has this feature?
