American Express recently provided me with incorrect information on a credit card I was interested in applying for. Because of this false information I applied for the card believing it could do something it couldn’t.

It has been several months since I obtained this card… during this time I have earned X amount of points. When I went to transfer these points to another account I was told it was not possible. However the entire reason for obtaining the card was because customer service said it was possible.

So now I will be canceling the card. Since the points earned on this card cannot be transferred out of the program. I have asked AMEX to honor me with a goodwill adjustment to my MBR account. So far they have only given me 2500 MBR points.

How can I get AMEX to provide me with additional rewards for a mistake they made?
