...Glad to hear you're siding with the Thailand option (but then I'm biased!). A few main points to consider:

1. In my humble opinion, there's no point in going as far as Phuket and *not* going to PhiPhi, if only for a few days of the trip. The ferry to PhiPhi is a pretty quick trip (couple of hours), and it would be a crime not to stay on such a wonderful island; I would personally opt to spend 75-80% of the trip on PhiPhi and 20-25% in Phuket.

2. For the Bangkok-PhiPhi option, please bear in mind that there are only a couple of ferries per day between Phuket and PhiPhi (unless you hire a private speedboat transfer for £$£$), so you might end up having to stay a day either side in Phuket anyhow (therfore might as well make this 2 days either side so as not to be rushed). From memory, ferries depart at around 9 am ish and 1 pm ish (please do check on these and don't quote me), and it's quite a trip from the airport to the ferry terminal, so even a 1pm ferry can be difficult to catch when arriving at HKT from BKK on an early morning flight. Transfers can all be booked with the hotel. General manager at PhiPhi HI is Antonio Hernandez Canovas, nice chap and has always been helpful whenever I've emailed him. (If you can't stretch to a sea front bungalow, I can recommend bungalow number 215, nice sea view and quick stroll to the beach)

3. Again, just my opinion, but for a honeymoon I might well miss out Bangkok completely - it's not really my cup of tea,...don't get me wrong, I appreciate the place on a certain level, but most times when we go to Thailand the only bit of Bangkok we tend to see is the airport, before either flying up north to Chiang Mai/Khon Kaen or south to Phuket etc.

My southern Thailand itinerary usually ends up being 2-3-4 days in HI Phuket (Bukasorn wing,...VERY important), PhiPhi for 5-7 days, then back to Phuket for another 2-3-4 days. PhiPhi is ultimate chill-out territory and perfect for honeymooners, plus the Bukasorn wing at Phuket is (from past experience) pretty chilled out too. Great pity about Crowne Plaza Karon though, as I would have suggested including this in the trip.

The build up that my wife and I always experience during the initial 2-3 days in Phuket is excellent,...chilled out and enjoying many beer Changs before the trip over to PhiPhi - I'm talking myself into booking another trip now!

Again, biased view because my heart is in Thailand, but please don't hesitate to contact me with any queries and I'll be delighted to offer any help I can.
