Although my aversion to KL run pretty deep, the problem with your above comparison is that MH is deeply in the red, and KL is profitable. There is absolutely no doubt that MH blows KL out of the water in every respect (although it's been a while since I've flown them personally), but they are faced with deep pools of red ink.
