I remember when I first saw the brollies being handed out. 2003, OOL I was waiting for my QF 767 flight and they used motorised covered airstairs and there was a ground staffer handing out the umbrellas in a tropical downpour. DJ came in and they pushed, not motorised, their uncovered stairs up and the passengers were not given any umbrellas. I told my friend that is the difference between a "full service" airline and a budget carrier
