Another tip you may not have thought about, but within the IC family, is the Crowne Plaza Karon Beach - the advantage here is that you're a fair way away from Patong if that's not your cup of tea, but Karon is pretty sterile (all the more reason to stay in your room, as per the honeymoon theme!) - again Plat status secured me a room upgrade here to a rooftop villa with plunge pool etc. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately the Crowne Plaza Karon Beach is no more - it was sold off and I think rebranded a Central Hotel instead. As you've said, it did get good reviews whilst it was in the program though.
There's meant to be new IC's opening sometime this year in Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phi Phi too, but I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that they'll be open by May unfortunately.
