NNCW Electrical - why U.S. socket?

I was thinking about the new outlets on NNCW and wondering why they are U.S. standard plugs. Is this the most common one in the world, or most common for business travelers? Or is it that there are so many BA flights to and from the U.S.? I could see why BA wouldn't use UK plugs, but the Euro style seems like a reasonable alternative, since I see it all over the place. I think there's only a handful of places that use the U.S. one besides the U.S.
