I think they could have gone with "D as in Delta" if they had done:
"A as in AirTran"
"B as in British Airways"
"C as in Continental"
"D as in Delta"
"E as in End of the Damn Train Line"
We would all smile when we heard it, but I think Airtran is in C and/or D, Delta is barely in D and BA flies out of E - and this would guarantee a lot of confusion among infrequent fliers. I guess we could have them all switch to the appropriate concourses, but then the frequent fliers would get confused. I've been known to traverse ATL in a zombie-like state, muttering my next gate number under my breath while trying to remember the closest CRC location.
