They may want to inspect the planes because the eggs may have been mis-handled before, and the cartoons have hiddened the potentially damaged eggs from view. Now, they want to open all the cartoons to check the eggs. Kind of like the inspections on the Airbus A300-600s following the verticle fin separation accident over Rockaway beach soon after 9-11.

The 737 that was damaged in the hard landing probably will never fly again.
