New Transatlantic Food Concept Amazingly Good

Since I last flew transatlantic on KLM in November, they have completely changed the food in coach. It is by far the best food I have had in economy on any airline for years, and is quite edible.

On the flight from Amsterdam, there was a choice of two entrees - Penne Gorgonzola or Chicken with Basil. There was a vegetable/mayonnaise salad with crisp vegetables including string beans, and a tiramisu-like cake for dessert. I think there was something else on the plate as well but it escapes me. It all had flavor and a decent texture.

The meal was branded Bertoli, but the food was much better than the Bertoli sandwiches served on the intra-European flights. Formerly the meals were branded Uncle Ben's on the transatlantic flights.

Kind of nice to see something improving for a change.
