Hi everyone.

Wow, thank you for your very quick and frank replies - really appreciated

I take your recommendations that the air/rail luggage option will not be practical... as you say, we really want our luggage the night we arrive and want to be able to ski until about after lunch the day we depart (our flight departs Zurich at 8.15pm). We are flying Swiss Air.

Our suggested rail itinerary is Zurich Airport - Zurich HB - Landquart - Davos Platz. I will check out the platforms on the www.sbb.ch - thanks for that information.

I guess that my worries are the tight connections: on the way to Davos we have a 14 minute connection in Zurich HB, but only a 6 minute connection in landquart - sounds a bit ambitious to me (being in a unfamiliar train station with quite a bit of luggage...).

It is useful to know that their are trolleys and lifts/elevators. In the UK, many of our stations don't have these and I was dreading the thought of us trying to get the bags up and down steps (especially if they are busy with people...).

Are we likely to have problems stowing our luggage on the trains or do most of them have room for luggage?

I may also check out car rental - it MIGHT be worth avoiding the hassle: although we did want to keep the cost down (since this is our second ski trip this year - spent 2 weeks in Colorado in January )

Any other advice/tips you think of would be appreciated

Thanks very much.
Boo
