I would adopt the 'ask very nicely' approach - it has worked for me in the past but BA are also much stricter than years gone by. Failing that, have a back up plane i.e a pay for access lounge if you really want to get them in somewhere different.

Does the GBP50 CE upgrade from LGW get you lounge access?
