I prefer not to stay on the first floor. It creeps me out too because of the windows being on ground level. I feel the same way about apartments, when I have lived in an apartment or condo I live on the 2nd or 3rd floor for the same reason. I rarely get put on a ground floor except for the Hilton in SLC, for some reason I always wind up on the ground floor there. Because I am rarely put on the ground floor it just never occurred to me to request a higher floor but I know the next time I go to SLC I am going to request it.
