Binter are generally very good for the very short hops around the islands... (great views!!) they use ATR's..... and I have managed to check-in for flights about 30 mins before. I have never been able to pick up a BP at Gatwick tho. GB seem to be happy to muck up schedules; it has happened to me FOUR times. Speak to GB customer services, (beehive, LGW) (NOT BA!) and they will often upgrade you to Club if there is "I" class availability, or they will pre-seat you at the front of ET. Just be nice!!!
