If she is not flying much, some of the airports are nice to have some time in there (and LHR is not that bad with all the shops) and the idea of duty free may appeal to her.
Also with J you do get access to a lounge which might be nice treat for her as well.
LHR is a mess/ordeal for connections IMHO and I would avoid it whenever I can - as seems to be the sentiment of many other FTers. BRU on the other hand is pretty good for connections and has a great shopping mall and other amenitites, though the OW lounge does leave something to be desired.
