in case anyone was thinking of Hawaiian Air as an option to get over to Hawaii, it's no longer possible to redeem miles to fly Hawaiian Air from San Francisco over to Honolulu.

This also means that anyone who has already booked on Hawaiian Air using WorldPerks miles, you're completely stuck. I got coach space using first class miles for a flight at Christmas-time (thinking I could jump up once space became available). No longer. No changes allowed to ticketed itineraries. Booooooo.

I suppose the only possible upshot of this is this may lend credibility to rumors that NWA is going to restart service between San Francisco and Honolulu, but nothing has been announced or loaded into the schedule yet.
