Thank you all for your advice. I went ahead and booked a car on Priceline and using BrettS's advice gave myself some leeway on the times. I am crossing my fingers it won't be an issue and UA won't change my itinerary again. I think it was worth it as I was able to shave about $100 off the total rental cost.
