Google Earth mapping for all SPG properties now available!

I finally did it! My new website JourneySearcher.com offers Google Earth mapping files with all SPG hotels worldwide and select non-participating Starwood properties. I currently display 872 properties -- each identified on the map by its current SPG Category number. Click on a placemark to view its detail that includes a link directly to that property's page in starwoodhotels.com!

To view Google Earth mapping files, you must install Google Earth -- a free download from Google, Inc. Low bandwidth is not recommended for running Google Earth.

Google Earth lets you group Placemarks into folders so that you can search through the list to display/hide certain groups. I'm currently producing the Starwood listing in two different groups of folders. One grouping is by Nation, and the other is by SPG Category.

In addition, I've created a subset file with a link to Google Maps for all NYC-area Starwood properties. No installation is required for this, and it also works for users with lower bandwidth. I would be happy to add more of these types of links, but I haven't identified the specific groupings that are needed or the limits of Google Maps' capabilities.

Thanks to BlondeBomber for his spreadsheet that helped me get started with this project. Though I originally thought that I'd make this a part of his spreadsheet, it's morphed into a full blown database installation that is capable of frequent changes.

There are a few properties that I cannot pinpoint with any accuracy beyond the City level. I'll post my Lost & Found list below to see if someone else can help find their precise locations. I'll give credit in the thread to whoever accurately finds a Lost property.

I anticipate frequent updates as changes are made when properties leave and join SPG, when locations are corrected or identified with greater accuracy, or when enhancements are added. The website shows the date that each file was last updated, and the file tells you the Generation Date of your existing file when you view it in Google Earth.

Feedback, suggestions, and constructive criticism is welcome in this thread, by PM, or via the JourneySearcher.com website. Enjoy!
