Flying AA from ORD-LHR then BA from LHR-BOM. The BA leg shows availability in upperdeck in class D, but says seating restricted to airport check-in. No restrictions on return flight and already secured seat in upperdeck from BOM-LHR.

Is there anyway to "secure" an upperdeck seat even though it states seating is restricted to airport check-in?
