circuit city sells naked boxes and ships for free(CC profits are way down). read the fine print for rebates and send them in.

the package deals are usually a better deal. sometimes really stupid. I bought a decent compaq box. price was let's say 595. they offered a package, with a worthless 17" "flat screen" monitor, and a decent HP printer. price, after rebates...495. gave the monitor and printer away.

similar deal with a pretty big ACER. 695 for box. box and a very nice 19" wide screen flat panel lcd.......670. I use the monitor, wife has the acer.

get an acer 19" wide flat, and I'll give you $100 for it. probably no good for games, but just so much better than all my old 21" crt units.
