It's customary to get moved up one class of service gratis. The "another SWU" makes me wonder where you were coming from - if domestically, you might have been able to get that SWU exchanged to 500-milers. (Or, more likley, been issued a paper SWU to replace it)

That said, I fly the same route, and I'm pretty much always willing to help the GAs out with a rerouting, particularly since it typically adds only 20% or so - and usually less - to the travel time. Sans compensation. I'm not really inconvenienced, so what exactly am I being compensated for?
