Why would you want DL to offer free (or cheap) upgrades to NW elites? If they did that, then NW would have to do the same for DL elites... there were 54 DL elites on a recent ATL-DTW flight... don't know if this is common, but if it is - good luck to those NW-CO Golds/Silvers!
