to be honest, sounds like BA did their best in trying circumstances - not sure from your post that you have much to complain about. The crew appear to have acted professionally and they would not have had any information themselves after you landed until the status of the plane was assessed.
Also, BA seemed to have acted quickly in arranging an onward flight to SYD.
Rather than complain, how about writing in to thank the Captain and crew for their actions in putting your safety first.
