Not exactly true. To confuse things a little further, there ARE CDMA handsets available for rental in Korea which take GSM SIMs. Only KTF have an agreement with Cingular. I've never had much luck with the handsets, though.

By the way, because SK don't have an agreement with Cingular, I don't think 3G roaming will work... certainly when I was there, there was no 3G roaming onto KTF. That may have changed, but there's no evidence of it on KTF's website...

SK claims to have agreements only with Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
