Thanks alanw. It was actually my understanding that Korea does not have GSM, but rather is either CDMA or UMTS, but UMTS there is 1900 up and 2100 down, so a phone needs either CDMA or
both UMTS frequencies. Is this not correct?
I just found these sites, which are interesting. They say there are some phones which are both GSM and CDMA, so they are 'truly' world phones. "WorldMode" phones.

Has anyone ever tried any of these phones, or know that they'd work with a Cingular/ATT SIM? Unfortunately the site does list "3G-CDMA2000 Service Providers" but Cingular/ATT is not one of them.
