Sounds like a better deal than joining the RCC itself. Especially if you travel alone frequently ($24 for a guest each visit). But, no MP miles (unlike joining the RCC).
I can't comment on your main question but please note that Priority Pass is not recognized at all RCCs. Here is a relatively recent lounge listing; whether or not Priority Pass works for you depends on whether your favorite locations or connection points are listed. In my case, the domestic terminal at SFO is not listed and I connect there more frequently than any other airport. Alternative lounges would not be convenient to UA domestic flights at SFO.
