I always wondered what the two blinking green lights next to a flight on a departure board meant. Also often shown in the internet next to flight departures, e.g. like here: http://www.airportcity-frankfurt.de/...e_abfluege.htm

Check-in open? Gate open? Boarding? Gate closed? Flight departed? Honestly, I have no idea. And I thought the time has come to ask my fellow FTers.

Same for arrivals, but here I think I know that it means that the flight has landed.
