I said something to this effect elsewhere and I'll say it again: it's pretty sick when the general expectation of the airline at PHL is so low that very frequent flyers blast infrequent flyers for actually having the temerity to take such a foolhardy action as checking a bag.

The Jetblue situation is worse and in many ways even dumber than the US situation. The difference being that the baggage woes at PHL for US have been going on longer than Jetblue has existed as an airline.

Really--if we have to reduce ourselves to blasting people for either checking a bag and/or checking it thru PHL, perhaps it is time to reevaluate the operational acumen of the airline in a sane manner.

PHL sucks. Really sucks. Really really really sucks. Despite the clamoring to the contrary, it has not changed (this week being evidence). It probably won't change, short of a reduction in flights such that it's not a primary connecting hub for domestic travel. That's the problem. People checking bags are not the problem and not deserving of the ire that should be placed squarely at the feet of LCC management.
That is why I pay the little bit more to fly through CLT, PIT, or LGA. Even the infrequent travelers know of this problem, it makes the news like every week.

Yes, it should be fixed but telling the news doesnt seem to be doing anything to fix it either. You doing all that extra work to vent your anger is dumb. Has it ever gotten your bag back faster? Has it ever made them not lose it?

I am tired of hearing about this!

US needs to spend all this money the made last year on PHL making it nicer inside the airport, fixing the baggage woes, and everything else we hate about PHL.

And to the poster that wonders why a nonstop flight couldnt produce your bag...Did you fly out of the F terminal?

I hear they personally walk the bags one at a time from check in to the F terminal so if you are connecting or checking in make sure you are at the airport 3 hours early or have that kind of layover.
