I was initially concerned that this was a scam to try to get me to phone and divulge credit card details but the reply address on the email is a marriott.com address and the area code for the phone number is the same as the area code for the Marriott Rewards support number.
I would suggest you use another card -maybe they are catching on.

My first attempt to purchase failed even though the transaction was shown on my statement - they refunded

but I did it again successfully^
