Just back from junket to Gulf, Beirut and London. Was lucky enough to have recently retired Brit, 20 year veteran with GF,beside me from BAH - SIN sector. Told me 787 and A350 are GF's choices. The 763's are on way out sooner as two have been found to have structural faults now..certainy got their moneys worth out of those workhorses!

As neither ac model has been released yet, Airbus seems to be trying to sweeten deal for GF by supplying interim A340's to replace 767's until A350 is available. This gentlmen went on to say "who knows what will happen now that Andre(new CEO) is here..he may totally have different view on which ac is right for GF"

Another observation he made was that while EK, EY and QR are frenzily updating fleets/interiors now, longterm GF may well have upper hand in the region as they will have benefit of hindsight and be able to take advantage of newer fit outs that will be available with more current interiors/seating. Interesting point.

All in all a bargain for the price of this F class trip. Had a couple of 40 min transfers in BAH, both handled well as I had my bag waiting at other end!

A330s starting to show their age as F class interiors starting to show wear and tear. Still no amenity kits but essential supplies in lavs adequate. Those massive change rooooooms on the A330's with a clear glass window are a real treat!
