You'd arrive and depart out of the lovely terminal 2 at LAX. You'll clear Customs/Immigration downstairs and I believe go through security again at the gate level. Caveat: last couple times I've been through, the elite/F line is no more.

LAX-NRT is still a 742 and is on the schedule at least through Aug.
