Hi, Chris. I followed the boarding pass website fiasco with considerably interest. I hope it works out in your favor (and thank you for shining a spotlight on the ludicrous security theater).
I can't give you legal advice, so I'll just make a couple of observations.
First, my understanding is that, under Hibert, police can ask for ID without having to meet the requirements of a Terry stop -- essentially, they can ID you for any reason at any time. I may be wrong -- this is way outside my area of expertise -- but I think she was acting within the law. I don't see any purpose in pursuing it with the police.
That said, TSA was completely wrong -- as you note, you can fly without ID and need only submit to secondary. If you're going to pursue it with anyone, I'd pursue it with TSA.
