I grew up eating scrapple every Saturday morning for breakfast. It was a real treat in my home, and now that I live about 2300 miles of the nearest stoer that sells scrapple, I always try to pick some up when I'm in Pennsylvania. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it.
To get this back on topic, I wonder what the procedure is for "taking people's word for it", so to speak. Basically, an item showed up as a questionable/unidentifiable object, and when the passenger (me) was questioned, their explanation was accepted without actually verifying it.
I grew up in PA. One taste is enough. And I've eaten some pretty crazy stuff along those lines as well.
