iirc, america west uses the same terminal as ua (t-7) and it is simply hit and miss as to the lines. i've seen 100+ folks clear within 15 minutes and i've seen 20 people take an hour-it all depends how many lanes are open.

as you face "the tollbooth", the far left lane is for crew and maSSSSages so watch the lines on the gates going from l-->r as they can fill up rather quickly.

there is an elite line for ua tho i'm not sure if other elite pax can use it. the downside is that it is seldom open but it is located directly across from the ua f/c check-in (which in turn is located on the other side of/behind the main ua check-in. as you walk into the terminal, the main ua check-in is in front of you on your right (with america west located there as well)-to find the elite line, make an immediate right as you enter the terminal and then a left as if you were gonna check-in w/ua f/c and you should see the elite checkpoint on your right.
