I have many stays at both the FS and St. Regis, and disagree that FS is the hands down winner. I would choose St. Regis over FS (nicer rooms, better food, good loyalty program, albeit not quite as good service). Others might choose FS, but they are reasonably close, definitely in the same league.

I agree that both are better than the Palace (though Palace is not bad, IMHO).
