Hi,

Virgin Premium Economy has a separate check in area, priority boarding and baggage handling , dedicated crew and an enhanced meal service compared to BA premium economy ( or World Traveller plus)

On Virgin on the 747-400 there are some seats on the upper deck ( 70-74) in the 2-2 configuration which is very nice.

Flying from the west coast of the US will help to maximise your sleep time as the flight time from the east coast ( at 6-7 hours) can result in only 2-3 hours sleep after the meal service.

From the west coast, I would choose SFO over LAX as San Francisco is a nicer airport ( but VS uses LAX T2 which is better than the Tom Bradley Intl Terminal at LAX)

Regards
