Liquid restrictions in cabin on TG from Bangkok?

I'm back with another question about my forthcoming flights on TG this week. All my other questions have been answered quickly and knowledgably by the stalwarts on this board. Many thanks.

Are there similar restrictions on taking liquids on board on flights from BKK as there are in European and American airports? Specifically, if I buy a bottle of champagne in duty-free at CDG and take it on board on my flight to BKK, will I be able to continue with it on my BKK-SYD flight which is an immediate connection? I just read a post in on another board about someone who had the duty-free whisky he had bought in an American airport confiscated in CDG when he tried to take it on board his connecting flight.

Rather than start yet another thread, does anyone also know of there is a currency exchange facility landside at BKK?
