I have a real problem with the simpletons employed to hand out plastic bags. They are the lowest of the pecking order, yet manage to cause the most chaos. I recently walked onto the main concourse to find around twenty of them had been drafted in by the BAA to assist crowd control in the non strike. As they didn't have much to do they took it on themselves to take over hosting the BA checkin zones

. After I had calmed several angry customers who had been either misinformed or insulted (or both in one case) I was advised by a spotty youth that he was doing a good job and that I had no cause to complain and it was nothing to do with me.
I had them all removed, and explained to the spotty youth that much as I appreciated his interference I rather reserved the right for BA to employ it's own staff and not have random idiots wander in of the street.
He seemed eventually to understand that sadly for him it had everything to do with me.
They seem to think they are the rule of law, god knows who employs them, even the BAA staff in the terminals don't seem to know which special moron from the BAA is responsible.

(I should add that from what I have seen the actual BAA security staff are not to happy about the way they behave either).
